These involve using a naturally occurring protein that causes the muscles to relax, consequently reducing the appearance of wrinkles for a natural, rejuvenated look.

Facial rejuvenation therapy is a very popular cosmetic treatment due to the speedy procedure times and undeniable results. They are mainly used to smooth dynamic wrinkles, or those wrinkles that form as a result of facial movements like frowning, squinting, smiling, and other expressions we tend to make day after day.

Treatment works by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles, causing them to relax. As a result, your expressions soften and the dynamic wrinkles are greatly reduced.

Dr Roxana Drug-Ionescu treats both men and women. If you have forehead lines, frown lines or wrinkles around your eyes, which you wish to minimise, please do not hesitate to book your consultation today.

FAQS About Facial Rejuvenation

1) Will I look 'frozen' or 'fake'?

We aim to achieve a natural result that simply makes you look refreshed and rejuvenated. We inject high-quality product into specific muscles that soften and reduce lines, while maintaining mobility and expression.

2) What results can I expect?

Through precise and skilful treatment execution, Dr Roxana achieves subtle yet effective results that make the most of your existing natural beauty, for an immediate smoothing of the appearance of lines and wrinkles, with minimal discomfort, treatment time, and little to no downtime post-treatment.

3) Does it hurt?

We find that a phobia of needles is one of the most common factors that deters people from having wrinkle injections, but the majority of patients tell us that their treatment experience was far less painful than anticipated. Most likely anti-wrinkle injections can be compared to having your skin momentarily pinched by a pair of tweezers or a small sting.

4) How often do you have to have top up treatments?

Results and frequency can differ from person to person, but most people require a treatment every three or four months.

Number of Visits: Usually 1, plus complimentary review and top-up.

We generally recommend treatment in all three areas. However not all patients desire wrinkle softening across all three zones, so we, therefore, offer a flexible pricing structure:

5) What are the possible complications of facial aesthetics?

Redness, bruising, swelling, allergic reaction, temporary drooping of eyelids or eyebrows after forehead injections may occur.

6) Which Products Do We Use?

At Twickel we carefully select the products that we use. All products will go through a detailed and strict selection process to ensure we only work with the best. We have been working with Allergan and we have total trust in their products and their dedication to new product development. This allows us to offer our patients the most innovative and best products on the market. At the consultation we will discuss what options are available to meet your needs.

  • You may have bruises in the areas treated with Muscle Relaxants. This is normal. It will take up to two weeks for you to experience the full effect of the Muscle Relaxant treatment. Please wait until the 14 days has passed before assessing if you are pleased with the result. It takes time for the muscles to lose strength and the lines to fade following Muscle Relaxants treatments. Movement of lines diminished is OK. The objective of the Muscle Relaxants treatment is to improve the appearance of the lines, not necessarily "freeze" the muscle.
  • It is best to try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting). This helps to work Muscle Relaxants into your muscles. Although thought to help, it will NOT impact your treatment negatively if you forget to do this.
  • Do NOT rub or massage the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment.
  • For 48 hours: Do NOT practice sauna, sun beds, jacuzzi, Yoga any type of strenuous exercise. This will minimize the risk of raising your blood pressure and therefore minimize the risk of temporary bruising.
  • Avoid facials for two weeks after your treatment. Feel free to shower and go about most other regular daily activities.
  • Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.
  • You may experience temporary swelling or bruising around the site of treatment. This will usually settle within a day or two.
  • If you need to apply make-up within 4 hours after your treatment, only use a gentle touch to avoid rubbing the treated area.
  • Avoid alcohol for a few days after treatment since it is a blood thinner.
  • For 24 hours: no long flights

  • Side effects, if they occur, are usually temporary and mild to moderate, depending on the type of treatment and your individual healing characteristics, but usually can last up to a week after treatment.
  • Stinging: Some patients develop stinging at the injection site for 10-15 minutes following treatment
  • Swelling, Tenderness, Headache: Some patients experience some swelling or tenderness at the injection site but these are short term effects and won't last long.
  • Redness/Bruising
  • Ptosis is a possible side effect. This is a mild weakness or paralysis of the eyelid or brow that causes it to droop.
  • Uneven brows/excessive watering of the eye
